The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with plenty to see and explore at every stop. One of the highlights of the day is the mini train rides, running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, for an additional $2 per person. This crowd-favorite ride is sure to bring smiles and make the visit extra memorable. Family Day is all about hands-on fun, affordable entertainment, and making memories together at the Lehnis Railroad Museum, no ticket to faraway places required.

🎄 Lake Brownwood Holiday at the Lake Visitors can celebrate the holiday season at Lake Brownwood State Park with a festive drive-through holiday lights display on December 11 and 12. Campers will decorate their campsites along the Willow Point camping loop, creating a cheerful holiday experience for guests to enjoy from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On Saturday night, visitors can also stop by the Group Dining Hall for pictures with Santa, hot chocolate, and a chance to paint a holiday ornament to take home. ✨ Festive Lights & Giving Spirit The holiday celebration is free to attend, with guests encouraged to bring donations benefiting the Brown County Humane Society and its four-legged friends. The event offers a fun way for families to enjoy the holiday season while giving back to animals in the community. 🎟️ Free Admission & Donation Information Admission is free. Suggested donations include kitten, puppy, cat, and dog food, cat litter, heavy-duty 55 to 60 gallon trash bags, puppy pads, laundry soap, Dawn dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and cat and dog toys. Campers interested in decorating a campsite and passing out candy can sign up for a free campsite by calling 325-784-5223 or emailing lakebrownwoodsp@tpwd.texas.gov .
