🏮 Light Up Lake Brownwood: Water Lantern Festival Light Up Lake Brownwood brings the community together on October 10th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for an inspiring evening centered around a beautiful water lantern festival. With the message “Every Light Tells a Story. Every Light Makes a Difference,” attendees are invited to honor, remember, celebrate, and give hope as they light up the lake together. ✨ Hope, Community & Celebration The event features live music, delicious food, local vendors, and more, creating a meaningful evening for friends, families, and the community to enjoy. Proceeds from Light Up Lake Brownwood benefit Brown County United Way and youth programs at the Texas 4-H Center, helping make a difference throughout the community. The event is made possible with support from sponsors including Ethos Pet Brands, Solaris Energy, Oncor, Texas Bank, KTAB, Ben E. Keith, City and Rural Rides, and Heart of Texas Mechanical. 🎟️ Tickets & Info Advance ticket sales are required. Individual tickets are $25, Date Night packages are $60, and group tickets are available for as low as $20. Together, the community can light up the lake with hope and make every light count.

Before modern conveniences, people relied on the natural world for food, medicine, shelter, and survival. Join a knowledgeable ranger for an engaging exploration of the plants, fungi, and other natural resources used by the Comanche, Apache, and other Native peoples to thrive in the wild.

Come join Ranger George for an introduction to the basics of fishing and discover what you might hook! Participants can borrow fishing poles and tackle from the park, making this program perfect for beginners, no prior experience or equipment is necessary. This program is free with park entrance . The program is weather dependent.

🔭 Stargazing Night at Lake Brownwood State Park Experience the wonder of the night sky during a special evening of stargazing at Lake Brownwood State Park. Guests will have the opportunity to view celestial objects through telescopes while learning about stars, constellations, and other fascinating sights overhead from knowledgeable volunteers. Whether attending for the first time or returning as a seasoned skywatcher, this program offers an unforgettable look at the universe above. ✨ Starry Skies & Shared Discovery The program takes place in the park’s Day Use Area, where visitors are encouraged to bring a folding chair or blanket to relax under the stars. To help preserve everyone’s night vision, guests should bring a red light instead of a white flashlight and be mindful of vehicle headlights when arriving and departing. Astronomy enthusiasts are also welcome to bring their own telescopes and share their passion for the night sky with fellow participants. 🌌 Admission & Information This program is included with park admission and is weather dependent. Guests who would like to volunteer as astronomy educators can contact the park staff for more information. Visitors are encouraged to call the park during operating hours before attending to check the status of the program if weather conditions are uncertain.
